| Thank you for your interest in Spotlight Dance Works. We understand that starting a new program can be a very hard decision for a dancer, but we assure you that studying dance at Spotlight Dance Works is a good choice. Our focus at Spotlight is on the art of dance and the development of strong technique, style and performance skills for each individual dancer. In the last few seasons, we have competed at the largest most respected competitions and conventions and have ranked consistently among the top studios in the state. We provide small classes and a more personal atmosphere during technique so that each child can grow with individual attention and develop their own style.In the past few years, our students have excelled at many competitions. You can watch our dancers perform on the Hall of Fame web page, as we have been featured in the Detroit Regional for many years running. We have been national champions for the past four consecutive national seasons around the country. In the past seasons, our dancers have not only earned top honors at competitions, but have also won scholarships and participated in many prestigious programs around the country. In the last year alone we have had dancers win scholarships and study at the American Ballet Theater Summer Intensive, New York’s Shake the Floor, L.A.’s Destination Dance Intensive, Dallas’ Adrenaline Summer Dance Intensive, New York City Dance Alliance’s Outstanding Dancer Program, New York’s Slide Tap Intensive and L.A.’s Pacific Coast Summer Intensive. We have also had great success with our graduating seniors, as they are currently dancing in universities on scholarships or leaving to pursue professional careers in N.Y. or L.A. Even dearer to our hearts are the special awards we have won in the past few years for being outstanding sportsmen and presenting ourselves professionally in a competition atmosphere. At NYCDA, we have won the “Backstage Good Sportsmanship” Award which was presented to the studio whose dancers showed the best attitude during the entire competition. We also earned the “Class Act” Award from NYCDA for presenting each dance professionally and impressively. At Footloose, we won the “Studio Spirit” Award for overall great sportsmanship. Not only do we have superior technique and dance performance, but we have also proven time and time again that we teach our students to be just as good off the stage as they are on! Auditions can still be held to join our competing team by contacting the studio. We hope that you enjoy your experience dancing with us this coming season.
